MAY 2011

May 28, 2011 (Saturday Breakfast Ride)

12 1/2 members met at CMS on what was a nice morning for the breakfast ride. We hung around the parking lot talking about this and that for a while before someone asked that all important question, where are we going? We decided on DeMill's in Pinellas Park. Peter B. led us there, so we wouldn't have to make a u-turn on Park Blvd. The restaurant had a number of Specials and I think we tried one of each. The service, food, and prices were good. After we finished eating we went here and there in smaller groups. Til next time.

May 26, 2011 (Thursday Dinner Ride)

13 members met at Ron's Bar-B-Que for the Chapter dinner ride. Management had reserved a large table for us in the front corner of the restaurant. The service, food, price, and camaraderie were excellent. Til next time.

May 21, 2011 (Saturday Dinner Ride)

The dinner ride, post HR218 qualification class this evening was a HUGE delight. Even with a couple of the dinners being late served, all the comments were VERY positive about the restaurant. Atmosphere, ambiance, serve staff, portions appearance a food quality were fantastic as was the price which was aided by the coupons which were supplied that covered at least the tip and as much as one of each pair of meals. A "keeper" on the restaurant lists for the club. All the shooters qualified for another year. All of us made it through the 6PM hour w/o incident though we did contemplate drinking Koolaid - we were talked into Bud Lite instead.

May 21, 2011 (Saturday Breakfast Ride)

9 members met at CMS for the weekly breakfast ride. Gary was there with his new riding buddy "Dozer". After we talked and of course played with "Dozer", we decided that since we were again a small group we would go to Lenny's because if you have more then a table you wait. As always the lox, eggs, and onions with tomatoes was excellent, others said their food was excellent also, the service was also good. After we finished eating the shooters went to the range to qualify and the rest of us went home to get ready for dinner tonight at O'Maddy's. Til next time (if there is a next time, you know what today is).

May 14, 2011 (Saturday Breakfast Ride)

Only 8 members came to CMS for the breakfast ride this morning. This was great for those of us that were there because it allowed us to go to the Tin Can Cafe (only seats 23) for the steak, 3 egg, potatoes, toast and coffee special, priced a $4.99. The service, food, and of course price were all good. After we ate, the clouds got thicker so we headed home. Til next time.

May 7, 2011 (Saturday Breakfast Ride)

10 members met at Brooker Creek Preserve in Tarpon Springs to participate in the A.P.A.C.K. 2011 Fallen Officer Memorial Ride. It was a nice clear warm morning. We rode to the first stop, had lunch, and then most of us left to do other things. Since it was as nice as it was T and I decided to go to Cedar Key for the day. Of course when you go to Cedar Key, you have to go to Tony's for the 2009 and 2010 Worlds Best Clam Chowder and corn nuggets. Til next time.

May 1, 2011 (Sunday Chapter Ride)

It was another beautiful morning for the Chapter ride, but again only 6 members were at BK (I guess everyone is waiting for it to be 100 degrees with humidity to match before they ride). It was decided that we would participate in the CU Cruise for Kids poker run starting 10am at Tampa HD. Free breakfast was provided at Tampa HD, the next 3 stops were Bahama Breeze, Fletcher's HD, Jim's HD, and the end up site was QS&L where we were given free lunch. There was lots of activity there along with good music from the Bobby Friss Band. Although none of us won anything it was still a good day, too bad you missed it. Til next time.
