DECEMBER 2011
December 31, 2011 (Saturday Breakfast Ride)
12 members and guests met at the predetermined rendezvous at the designated time for the last breakfast ride of 2011. It was still somewhat foggy but that cleared quickly and it looked like it was going to be a great day in the neighborhood, so the group decided to feed at Rocky's Neighborhood Diner. The scenic ride took about 40 min. When we arrived our table was ready, things went very well, the service was good, the prices were extremely good, the food quality and quantity was excellent. After breakfast we tried to ride the beach road home, but the fog was still there, so back to the mainland we went. Til next time.
December 24, 2011 (Saturday Breakfast Ride)
13 members and guests met on this foggy warm morning for the next to last breakfast ride for 2011. T & I were running late because I had a senior moment and forgot all my stuff and had to go back for it. When we arrived at CMS everyone had decided on a new place in Tarpon Springs, Chloe's. The ride was nice and when we arrived the staff had a big table waiting. The service was good, the food was good, although a little high priced, we had fun and since it was Claude's birthday, we embarrassed him. After breakfast everyone went their own way to put the final touches on their Christmas chores. Til next time Merry Christmas to all.
December 18, 2011 (Annual Christmas Party)
WOW, what a party! 73 members and guests took part in the Chapter Christmas party and it was a great time. We had Peter's hors d'oeuvres, shrimp, Eric's fried turkeys, Dennis's hams, sweet potatoes, bean casserole, potatoes, salad, aw I can't remember all the entrees and sides. There was Bud Light, wine, soda, water and coffee. Then there was the desert table with cheese cake, balls full of rum, bread pudding, cookies, cakes and pies. After the meal it was time for the great gift exchange emceed by Gary, lots of laughs taking the gifts you want from those that already have them, poor Tom, every time he would get something someone would take it, I think he had to go to the table 7 times maybe 8. I could tell you more stories, but you get the idea, IT WAS FUN!! Merry Christmas. Til next time.
December 17, 2011 (Saturday Breakfast Ride)
Between CMS and the restaurant 13 members and guests participated in the weekly breakfast ride which went to the Cotee River Cafe on the golf course, Shady Hills Rd. Spring Hill. It was great morning for a longer scenic ride in the country. The ride took about 45 minutes and worked up our appetites for food and coffee. The food, service, and prices were good. After we were done eating, we hung around in the parking lot talking about everything and everybody. Til next time.
December 10, 2011 (Saturday Breakfast Ride)
9 members, but only Roland was brave enough to brave the DEW and ride his bike, met at the rendezvous point for the breakfast ride. We hung around in the parking lot talking for a while and then decided that we had not been to the Country Skillet in a long time so off we went. We were seated immediately and our orders taken. As always the food was very good, if your ears were burning around 10am it's because we were talking about you while we were eating. After we finished we went to take care of the domestic things that we all must do. Til next time.
December 4, 2011 (Sunday Special Ride)
17 members and guests participated in the 24th Annual Jim Rosenkrans' Memorial Toy Run. The weather was great (even at 6:30am when we left Spring Hill for St. Pete). The 2500 or so bikes worked their way out to the beach, then along it to Pass-a-Grille and back to Jim's for lunch a ride that took almost 2 hrs. A point of information it took 9 minutes for us to pass ourselves leaving Pass-a-Grille on the return trip. It's great being in front of the ride because when you return you are in front of the food line. Til next time.
December 3, 2011 (Saturday Breakfast Ride)
10 members attended the weekly breakfast ride. Ron D. suggested a new place that was run by friends of his called Two Friends Luncheonette on Drew St. Instead of going straight down US 19 putting up with traffic and construction, we took the scenic route of Belcher Rd. to Drew St. The restaurant sits in a strip mall right by the Tilted Kilt. The food was excellent, however being only a 2 person operation the turn around time was somewhat slow. After we finished our meals we all went our separate ways. Til next time.
