APRIL 2011

April 30, 2011 (Saturday Breakfast Ride)

It was a fantastic morning, no humidity, not hot, bright sunshine, Love Bugs still sleeping, probably like our members as only 9 were at CMS for the breakfast ride. We decided to go to Castillo's because it has been about a year since we have been there. We rode along the coast, it was perfectly clear and you could see everything, just beautiful. We arrived at the restaurant and were seated immediately and served quickly. The food was good and it as priced good also. After eating our small group broke up and went to do chores and shopping (which to me is the biggest chore of all). Til next time.

April 28, 2011 (Thursday Dinner Ride)

11 members and 1 guest rode or drove to the Thirsty Marlin for the Chapter dinner ride. Peter arranged for a private room for us which made things very comfortable. The food was excellent and priced right, but the service was weak as some waited a long time for their food. We said so long to the Kelly's as they are returning to Canada tomorrow until next fall. To those of you that weren't there, it was a fun time, too bad you missed it. Til next time.

April 23, 2011 (Saturday Breakfast Ride)

14 members met at CMS for the Saturday breakfast ride. After the morning tire kicking session it was decided to go to Eve's in Oldsmar. We made the call and as always, management said come on over. We had the back room for ourselves with our own server. As always the food, service, and prices were good. Til next time.

April 14-17, 2011 (SRC - Metairie, LA)

Thursday through Sunday - 29 and 1/2 members and guests attended the SRC spring conference held by BK-La XII in Metairie La. The Chapter put together many good rides and events during the 4 days. The food was mostly Cajun and New Orleans Style. Because of us having 29 and 1/2 members and guests, we beat BK-Fl XXVI, which had 29 members and guests, for another largest group plaque. Til next time.

April 10, 2011 (Sunday Chapter Ride)

14 members met at the BK for the Chapter ride. After some discussion, it was decided to take a ride south and end up at a restaurant that Mike B. knew of in Nokomis. It was a good ride, even with the heavy traffic and stupid drivers. The food, prices, and service were excellent. After lunch a group came back north to Pinellas Park to visit Peter B., who is home recuperating from surgery, others headed home. Til next time.

April 9, 2011 (Saturday Breakfast Ride)

It was another beautiful morning and 21 members and guests met CMS for the Saturday breakfast ride. It was decided, since for the past few weeks members wanted to go to a buffet, we would go to Shephards, which has the best breakfast buffet in the area. When we arrived the members that kept asking to go to a buffet, ordered off the menu and didn't go to the buffet, go figure. The buffet and omelet station were great, but the menu orders took forever to be served, so long that members left. My only complaint was the price of coffee and that the cup wasn't kept full for that price. After eating we broke into smaller groups to do what was on everyone's agenda. Til next time.

April 2, 2011 (Saturday Breakfast Ride)

24 members and guests met at CMS on this beautiful morning for the breakfast ride. A call was made to the Square Plate in the Mainlands Shopping Center to check if they could handle the large group. The owner said come on over. The food was good except the shit on a shingle. Bobby B. had it, it came on white bread that might have been toasted. It looked anemic. Bruce wanted to order it but the waitress ignored his request and asked "how eggs, what toast, and potatoes, grits, or tomatoes and then brought him the 2 egg special. I guess I will be making Brucie sos for breakfast one day this week (on biscuits not white bread). Everybody else was very happy with their food though. My Mexican omelets and side of sausage was made into 2 meals, so I guess servings were good size to say the least. Prices were like everywhere else. It was a nice day to be riding after. We went and played with some of the grand babies after. I think everyone else also went from breakfast to doing their own things. It was good to see four of the Patnode clan. We also had 4 of the many Branam siblings. Hope everyone drives safe and enjoys the weather! See you all at the SRC. Hugs T.
