CRUISING REPORT MAY 2010
May 29, 2010 (Saturday Breakfast Ride)
11 members and 2 guests met at CMS at the predetermined time for the Saturday breakfast ride. After the morning BS period it was decided to try a new place in Pinellas Park. The call was made to the restaurant and they welcomed us, so off to DeMill's on Park Blvd. we went. When we arrived, our table was ready and the servers were too. Coffee was served and orders taken quickly, the food was a little slow arriving but the quality and the price made it worth it. A big thank you goes to Tim Roth on behalf of our vets on this Memorial Day weekend. After breakfast a few of us didn't feel the need to go home yet as it was still a nice day, so to QS&L we went for a few cool ones. Til next time---
May 22, 2010 (Saturday Bubba's Bikes for Badges)
13 members participated in Bubba's Bikes for Badges held at Jim's HD in St. Petersburg. Some met at Wing House. This is where I started my caffeine drip i.v. We started to feel very hot over heated like, before we ate. Some of us met at Stingray Chevrolet and Elder Ford. We met up at a very crowded Jim's. Dennis and Tony were going to get their bikini's washed. Bruce and I got our poker cards and meal tickets. We found Joe E. and Honey poo mixed in with the crowd. Jimmy stayed a few minutes. Randy was there Jimmy B, is in New York. Our Rick went in for a tune up. He is reported as doing fine. He is home from the hospital already. It was a huge 50/50 over 2000 dollars. None of us won it. I have to add, if I heard another man say these girls sure are talented I thought I would go ballistic. Where is the talent in having tits and walking around in bathing suits? Maybe the talent is in the fake hair color and tanning booth tans. I don't know.... Why can't these guy's just say Shit look at her or something like that. Till next time T.......
May 15, 2010 (Saturday 3rd Annual A.P.A.C.K Ride)
13 members and 1 guest participated in the 3rd annual A.P.A.C.K./Hernando County Bike Fest & Memorial Ride in honor of Sgt. Ron Harrison HCSO killed in the line of duty August 15, 2007. I must begin this by saying: It is very sad that so few people turned out for this memorial. If people just came to the ceremony, that would have been cool. I don't mean this toward us. In general I feel the girl scouts, boy scouts, church youth groups, explorers, and folks who remember veterans all could show support for our fallen officers. I know it can be a sacrifice to get up and drive a ways and fall behind on shopping, cleaning, yard work, and whatever else but we need to remember our fallen and teach youngsters to do the same. With that being said, It was a nice breezy ride to Tampa. We had a late start because I got stuck at work. I pulled in, took off my uniform put on biker garb and the Spring hill contingent was on our way. We met up with our other chapter members at McDonalds. Coffee is good when a person works all night and continues to keep going. The sausage biscuit also was yummy. Rick had a mechanical problem. He dropped off at Mickey Dee's. He got towed to Brandon Harley and they fixed it right up. We love our Rick and hated to leave him behind. The ceremony got started promptly and the ride was lovely. No real unbearable heat. The Bike Fest was also refreshing. We had picture time for Uncle Joe E. and Jim. We then found the air conditioning and beer inside Beef-O-Brady's. We had a nice time socializing with each other and A.P.A.C.K. Then we went outside for abit. The band was good they did music from the 80's. We hung out for awhile, and then headed home. B and I got home about 3:30. Joe E. also had mechanical problems on his ride home. He got there safe and has to take his bike to get tinkered with. Till next time hugs and love T.
May 8, 2010 (Saturday Breakfast Ride)
12 members and 1 guest met at the predetermined location for the Saturday breakfast ride. At the meeting time it was a nice day, not to hot, not to cold, not to humid although sunny and one could tell that by the time breakfast was over we would be in the Land of Sweat again. What happened to those great days in January and February when it was cool? After the morning tire kicking and our guest renewing old associations, it was decided to go to Castillo's Restaurant, a place that under a different name was where the first breakfast ride went. The food, service, and prices were all good. After we ate, a few members went to Fletcher's, some went home, 5 of us took a ride along the coast out to Anclote Key and then the twisties on the bayou in Pasco County making it a fun morning. Til next time--
