September 26, 2009 Saturday -
16 members met at Macintosh Rd. and I4 at 7:30 am
to attend the BK Multi Chapter Breakfast sponsored by Fl XXIX in Kissimmee. This
was a truly strange event in that Alex was there and his speech was less then 5
minutes. They had at least 75 there and it was the birthday of the host
chapter's presidents wife. Everything went very nice, the food good, service
good, price of $5.00 for a buffet. We had some Blue Knights from England
visiting join us. Alex took the man's shirt and gave him his. They had an award
given to farthest distance traveled as well as many nice door prizes. At the
banquet last week our chapter gave me a sippie cup of juice for my Birthday. I
will not tell a lie some how the lid with the Rainbow and Bratz Girl got removed
and vodka got added to the 100%juice, that contained no added sweeteners or
colors. Anyhow, the fine people of chapter 29 gave me a big girl glass as a door
prize. It is a beer mug that has ride with pride etched on it. I hope I have no
uh-ohs cause I know cranky Bruce will make me go back to a sippie cup the first
time I spill. The best part of the ride had to be seeing Steve walking with no
brace, cane, or walker. We are so happy you are joining us again Steve. A few of
us went on to the winery, most of us went on home though. Bruce, Joe E., and I
went to Jim's Harley Davidson. Joe E. went home to warm his recliner. Bruce and
I went to Sam's on Hudson Beach. Gator bites and beer were calling us by name as
we drove down 19. Hope to see you all soon, Hugs and kisses T.
September 24, 2009 Thursday - 15 members met at Cricketers in Dunedin for the monthly Chapter dinner ride. The last time we went to Cricketers, Bruce's then about to burst daughter, her husband and then only son joined us. Due to it being near them. That night she did burst. Their house has not been quiet since as Isabella Marie is a 4 year old cutie doll version of her papa Bruce. She should have joined us last Thursday however Bruce's daughter is afraid of the fresh behaviors she might learn from papa Bruce. Anyway as seems to be the usual report, food was good, service left something to be desired. There was a guitar playing cutie named Jake. He did a wonderful job with modern as well as some 70's and 80's stuff. Roland and Patty joined us as did Don and Karen. It is always nice to see Perry and Barbara too. Roland was leaving the next Morning for Ohio to be with his Mom. We need to keep him and his family in our thoughts.
Till we eat, drink and be merry again hugs and kisses T.
September 17 to 20, 2009 Thursday thru Sunday - 19 members and 2 soon to be members attended the fall SRC in Greenville SC during what was a wet 4 days. On Thursday we all arrived excited and tense then we proceeded to unwind and relax from the journey. It is a good thing Joe E.'s Alice is not a real person I think she would have been put out of the car. Bruce was confused by the roads around the hotel and garage within a short time of being reminded that a lot of McDonald's employees were dropped on their heads as babies. We all managed to find a bar in the hotel lobby though and after a few rounds felt okay. I hope the waitress is a student or meets a rich guy or something. She was to nervous and once she made one error got high strung and made three or four more. The host chapter had many moments that made them feel similar. The people working did the best they could being 200 plus miles away from home. With bad weather and a skeleton crew. Our little group had 2 birthdays and a retirement to celebrate. Many thanks to our Blue Knight family for helping us. T turned on the charm to sell fifty/fifity. I find a little kiss on the cheek will get even the cheapest old dude to part with 5 dollars. When it was all said and done the alcohol killed the old man germs plus I soaked my smoocher in Purell. We were the best represented chapter even after Daytona challenged it. Ron would have been oldest rider except he drove the van. Our Cory was the youngest rider. He also won the cruise tickets that got raffled off. I hope Charley and Trish felt the big Fl 17 love and support as they were invited to everything coming up on our schedule. Last but not least our little jewelry designer Marie sold some lovely things and found a nice bead shop in Greenville called the Beaded Frog We all got home safe and those of us that are not retired are back to the daily grind. Love and hugs till the dinner ride...T
September 12, 2009 Saturday - 5 members showed no fear of melting or turning to stone on this very rainy, wet morning and met at CMS for the breakfast ride, in cars of course. We went to the Country Skillet, it was good. Okay food, okay prices, and the service good. The guys thought the waitress could have looked nicer, but lets face it being the G.Q. men that they are it's hard for normal working people to measure up. After breakfast we sat for long while and gossiped about all of you (were your ears burning)? Everyone travel safe to the S.R.C. and for those of you not coming you miss out... Hugs and kisses T
September 06, 2009 Sunday - it was a nice cooler morning (at 8:30) leaving Spring Hill for BK to meet for the Sunday ride. Bruce just said 13 of us met and went about 100 miles to Red's in the little town of Hernando (not to be confused with the county) and to write whatever I want. I want to write a novel about love and war. I won't now though, because I got fried between yesterday and today. The ride was very nice Jimmy did a good job leading and our Tricky Dick was there. He and Sophie had a nice trip up to Jersey. Joe E. was a good fill in for leadership and Cranky man followed up from the rear just excellent, our guys are super!!! Till Thurs. Our meeting night (hint that is a reminder this Thurs. is a meeting night). Hugs and kisses. T
September 05, 2009 Saturday - finally a morning without rain and 10 members met at CMS for the breakfast ride. We went to a place called Jakob's Cabin on US19 right next to Gulfview Square Mall. Bruce and I ate there last night for dinner. They do a good dinner, yummy. However, I don't believe a group for breakfast is something they can handle. Ron gave us a report on Claude. Sounds like he is going to be bored for a while. Bobby came without Barbie or Breanna, they were sleeping in and getting their nails done. Mike and Sue were there as well as Roland and Tony they were in the Hummer because Roland said his rubber broke on his bike. Patty I didn't know people you and Roland's age were still flexible enough to play on the bike however, if you ever need a baby sitter just call. After breakfast we all went separate ways, Bruce and I went to a open house at Creative Custom Cycle in Weeki Wachee, then to the open house at Crystal River Harley. After that we rode around and found ourselves at a place by the water in Old Homosassa, we watched boats and had a bucket of beer for lunch. On the way home it rained just enough to keep me awake. Now it's time to play with old cars. Playing around in old cars could be more fun but Bruce gets cranky about the interiors getting messed up. See you all tomorrow (if cranky feels like it). Hugs and kisses !!!T.
