June 28, Saturday
- 15 members
met on this pretty morning at CMS to have breakfast at Tiffany's (no not
the diamond place, the family restaurant in Palm Harbor). Because the
restaurant was so close, going directly up US 19, it was decided to make
a ride out of it by going inland, then north to Tarpon Springs, west to
Alt 19, south to Alderman, east to US 19, and south into the parking
lot. The restaurant's management was happy to see our group (money), as
usual the food was excellent, priced decent, service was great, the only
problem is coffee is $1.75 a mug, oh well 3 out of 4 aint bad. After
most left to beat the forecasters at their own game. Til next

June 26, Thursday - 13 members and 10 guests met at Rosie's Clam Shack for our monthly Chapter dinner ride, most everyone went directly to the restaurant, T and I went to BK and we met Perry and Barbara there (both doing well after their surgeries). We arrived quickly at Rosie's and met everyone else, this dinner ride was a little different then most as it fell on our VP Joe E.'s birthday so we turned it in to a party to honor him because today he joined the ranks of the old and decrepit (65). The restaurant is a NE style seafood place so most everyone had seafood and of course chowder, everything was good and priced right. After dinner in honor of Joe E. we sang Happy Birthday (to which everyone else in the place left) and had birthday cake (Joe E. showing one of his many talents, cut and served the cake himself, WOW!) While we were ending our party the lights were going off and we were getting thrown out as it was closing time. Til next time-----------------------(ed-BS) June 21, Saturday - 9 members (only Peter D. brave enough to be on his bike) met on this rainy, very stormy morning for breakfast. Since we were a small group it was immediately decided to go to "The French Toast King", Yanny's. As usual the food and service was great, while enjoying our food we sat and talked about everyone that wasn't with us, some of it good but most of it bad (were your ears ringing). After we were done talking about most everyone (you know what they say, if you don't have something bad to say about someone, don't say anything at all) we headed out into the storms and home. Til next time-------(ed-BS) June 14, Saturday - 14 members and 2 guests met at CMS on what was a nice spring morning (early), but by the time breakfast was over had become a typical Florida summer morning (even though it's not summer for another week). The group decided to head north to NPR and go to Barnhill's Buffet on SR54. It was good to have the Prez with us today, so we put him in the point spot and off we went (oh, I forgot to mention, R R has a new motor which he loves - this week). We arrived at the restaurant and had no problem getting seated so that we could start eating. It seems to me though, that the quality of the food is deteriorating more each time we are here compared to the way it used to be. After breakfast most of the sugar and spice riders rushed home so they wouldn't get wet and melt, while a few of us went to the Deadwood Stampede II at the Sun West Mine in Hudson. This time the event was held by the lake on paved and solid lime rock instead of lime rock, sand, dirt, and (when it rained) mud. The event started out slowly, but as the afternoon went on more and more people arrived. (the ideal time to arrive is 3 pm)There were water-ski shows, motorcycle daredevil shows, bike show, beauty pageant, vendors, food and beer, and a concert with 5 bands including the great Greg Billings Band. It was a hot (drink lots of water) day, with not a drop of rain on site, and as the sun went down a perfect evening by the lake. This area for the event was by far better and safer if there was bad weather, but as far as atmosphere the original area was the best. T and I got home at mid-night from the Saturday breakfast ride, it was a good day, a great event. Til next time-------(ed-BS) June 08, Sunday - although it was a little warm and the forecast was for "hot" (what's new), 10 members met at 10am at the BK for the Chapter ride through the country to Cracker's in Crystal River. I received a call from Andy while at BK to let us know he was running late and to wait (he was almost 45 minutes away so I told him to meet us at US41 & SR52). I called Cracker's from BK and made a reservation for 12 at 12:30pm. We then headed north on Dale Mabry to US41, picked up Andy and Eric at the Hess and continued north through Brooksville into the country, using some County roads to cut across Hernando and Citrus Counties back to the west coast arriving at Cracker's 45 minutes early. The staff had another large party at the time, but did their best to seat us quickly, and serve us quickly. While we were eating 2 other motorcyclists came over and asked if the bikes on the side of the building were ours, they said we needed to check them because they were sinking in the blacktop, they were, so we took care of things and went back to eating. After lunch we split into smaller groups taking different highways to go home to the ac and pool or in Andy's case the nudist camp. Til next time---(ed-BS) June 07, Saturday - !5 members met at CMS today for the weekly breakfast ride. After the usual tire kicking and hanging out we decided to go to Ted's Luncheonette in Largo as we haven't been there in over a year and from what we remembered it was across the board good. A phone call to the restaurant confirmed our coming. Peter D. led us as the rest of us didn't remember how to go. When we arrived the management had 4 tables marked reserved 4 us and had multiple servers ready to take our orders, orders were taken quickly, delivered quickly, plenty of it, good and priced right. What more could you ask for? After we ate and came outside to find it about 10 degrees hotter then when we went in, everyone went their own way to try to stay cool.
